I was introduced to VLC media player back in 2009 by a friend. Although I used other media players for playing movies, videos and MP3s, there are a certain file types and some files with newer codecs which won’t play in other media players. VLC media player solved this problems. It’s ability to play almost all type of video files is the best thing about it.
Since then I have been using VLC media player along with other media players.
**Pros of VLC media player:**
1. Can play almost all file types.
2. Takes very less amount of hard disk place after installation
3. Easy to install
4. Free of cost
**Cons of VLC media player:**
1. Not so user friendly
2. Very basic media player buttons
3. Player skin is very old & looks ancient
4. Windows style title bar and buttons
Other than the cons, the media player is very small and useful for playing various media files.
