An Excellent player

When I first heard this name from one of my friends then I thought there were numerous players in this area and it was not possible to download each and every players for each different formats. At that time I generally used Windows media player/Real player. So I just ignored the VLC player. One day I came across a video format that couldn’t be played my WM Player or Real Player. And again my friend suggested the VLC player and this time I had to take him seriously. I download the player from the internet. It is very simple to install and look and feel is bad(or not impressive). But it played that uncommon format properly. I thought OK, but it could not replace my WM Player or Real Player from being my favorite. Again I came across a format, my favorites duo were unable to open that file. And amazingly VLC again did with ease.

Days went on. I have experienced multiple times that VLC player can played any digital format(both audio or video) with perfection.Sometimes I have found that when I play my some pirated DVD in WM player then it is unable to deliver the picture but audio is going on.With VLC player everything is fine. Another problem that I found with WM Player that if there is a bad sector in the DVD then it hangs there and a heavy software like WM player making it close is enough to ruin the charm of the movie or music. VLC also scores over here. It is so light wight. Don’t know why it is so light yet so powerful. I don’t want great GUI rather better functionality.

Controls are easy. All the functionality are there. Although no visual effects is available for the music.

Gradually I realize that VLC player can run any files so why I need another two player which looks great but are not master in their field. So only keep the master. Recently my interest on Linux is growing and I am very happy that VLC player is also available for the Linux users.

Overall I am satisfied with VLC player for its versatility of supported format, simplicity and light weight and off course free.
