UNNECESSARY+WRONGFUL DEACTIVATION of CONNECTN.

VODAFONE COMPLAINT MATTER 9051223504( relationship no.: 1.40163229) as well as* 9051223409( relationship no.: 1.40163223) : -

MATTER OF COMPLAINT.:


Using this number( as prepaid)  for 2-3 years. Saw online that my name had spelling mistake on their website. So went to Vodafone Store near Southern Avenue, Kolkata for correcting. There I was advised to migrate to Postpaid as that would give me better rates and BETTER NETWORK COVERAGE in interior areas( I travel to Assam often). I was told only a refundable Rs.300 security deposit will be required. I agreed and agreed on plan and signed forms as asked and provided my PASSPORT for ID and ADDRESS proof. Same was also done for my other number 9051223409. I was handed over two 3G enabled normal sized sims and was asked to activate after 2-3 hours. I did so, and it started working.


I was also told that there will be personal verification of residence place as shown on ID proof provided which was also given as billing address. I waited for seven days and no one came. After that I went to Rajasthan on religious trip, and I got a call from verification guy who was asking for the exact location of address given.


I explained and he confirmed he was just in front of building gate after about fifteen minutes. I said My mother and other family members are up in flat and he could go. He said OK. I also confirmed my mother over phone immediately that Vodafone representative will be coming. After that no one came. I thought he must have finished the formalities, but was surprised when my mother at night at night told me she was waiting all time but that person did not come.


I traced the person’s number in call logs and called him. he said he would go back next day siting some personal problems. I asked him specifchandru021y to do the formalities timely so unnecessarily the numbers are not de-activated or something due to non-fulfillment of the verification process (I am aware of the government regulations). He said NOT a problem, he would do it next day.


I was at peace and completed my tour. Suddenly last day of my tour, in Jaipur, I stopped getting network in both the numbers. At first I thought it was normal network problem. But as hours passed by and I was without network, I started getting worried and called up Vodafone care at 98300 98300 from my wife’s another Vodafone number and was shocked to learn that both my numbers were deactivated as there were "negative remarks" on the verification report. On pleading to re-instate the connections as I was travelling and was handicapped without phone, customer care said they could not do anything and very rudely hung up the phone.


I called up my mother and asked about the Verification person’s interaction on his’presumed’ visit, and was again shocked to learn that no one had visited as yet and they were STILL awaiting him, as suggested by me earlier.


* *In short, due to the immaturity and cheating and shortcut taken by the Vodafone representative by giving a false verification report( without actually doing the verification process), I suffered unnecessarily. Over that, I had to face the ir-responsive and unexpectedly irresponsible behavior in the hands of your’supposedly’ trained and groomed customer care representatives.


I want my connections to both numbers be re-stored ASAP( as these are my mostly used numbers, and I am losing a lot of business and other communication due to their not working, and that too without any fault of mine) .**


Further, I am confident that there can be nothing wrong or negative with my verification as I have submitted PASSPORT( most important document of identity in INDIA which is verifiable along with address given therein) and I have also been verified by BSNL and others and those numbers are working perfectly till now. Further, VODAFONE should put more efforts in screening the third parties they choose for verification, etc.

Just in case you try contacting me at the numbers in the complaint( 9051223504 and 9051223409). Obviously they are deactivated and not working now.
