I have been a journalist for 7 years and have recently taken up a careen in the field of Corporate Communication. I have been really disappointed with Vodafone of late. This is the nth time I am facing an issue with their services and payment format. This time they have crossed all limits. I recently(on 23rd Feb) changed my plan from Rs 299 and took a corporate plan for Rs 149. So according to this my monthly rental should have come. However, my rentals seem to have doubled.
Last night when I called Vodafone care(which was answered after 3 mins of hold time) their RUDE executive gave me lame justifications of why I have been charged Rs 299 as advance rent and then soon HUNG UP on me. I did call again to talk to another arrogant Supervisor(as I decided not to talk to an executive) who told me there was a slip up at the back-end and that it would be rectified. When asked what should my actual bill be? She said I would know that only in the next 48 hours as and when the executive calls and soon HUNG UP on me.
This is not the 1st time that I have faced this obnoxious behavior from the Vodafone employees(be it the customer care or the Vodafone gallery). The last time I faced huge problem with my Vodafone internet, I called Customer care and was highly disappointed with their good-for-nothing technical support team. And, after they weren’t able to rectify my problem, and I disconnected the call, I got a message from the executive’s personal number asking why I had disconnected his call. When the matter was reported to the supervisor the same night, he was more interested in knowing who messaged than helping me sort my problem. After 5 long days I went to the Vodafone gallery where again I was directed to another disrespectful executive who wasnt able to help. Only after I threatened to put out a report in the papers did someone senior attend to me. And after 2 hours of struggle at the store my internet started working.
Also, around on 20th Feb, I changed my date pack as well. Form the earlier Rs 499 2G pack where I was getting 250MB usage free I shifted to a Rs 375 3G with 500MB usage free. Till last month, when I had 250MB free usage, I would never have to pay a single rupee extra as I used to be left with a couple of free MBs. However, this time, with 500MB free, I got a message last evening saying that I have exceeded my monthly free data usage and that charges will now be applicable as per my data plan. I fail to understand, that with double free data usage, how is it that Ive exceeded my free limit. This is when I have wi-fi excess all day long in office. So I happen to use my mobile internet for hardly 10-15 mins a day. On this query, the supervisor yesterday informed me that despite wi-fi being on, I am being charged by Vodafone as I need to disconnect 3G cellular data. This fact wasnt told to me when the plan was being sold to me, while the executive was well aware that I used wi-fi all day long in office.
Fed p from the services, I think best solution is to switch to another operator, coz relying on Vodafone would be the biggest mistake.
