VODAFONE HELP – YOU & I IN THIS beautiful world!
As the story goes – Once upon a time we have a Dog with its breed named “PUG” and we have a country called India and it’s people called Indians crazy after the Dog. Yes, I am talking about that sweet little Pug we all see in the Hutch and now Vodafone Ads. We all know that ever since the dog featured in the Ads, India has a larger growth of customer base or should I say fan following emerging for the dog then the Hutch connections itself. Needless to say I have three people in my house crazy after the Dog – My sweet wife(as sweet and innocent as the dog – might be that’s why I love the dog so much(did I missphrase this? Good my wife doesn’t read my reviews), my sweet son(again.) and of course me(loyal and faithful like the dog – just joking). And yes there’s my Mom who has given the option of either her or the dog staying in the house, and my father being a Yes man to my Mom so that’s why I don’t own one(but I own three Vodafone connections). But this is a difference story I can discuss in my Diary later on.
The Dog has been there in the Ads for ages but with the Vodafone Help Ads, what struck me lately was why a Dog for a Help Ad. We say that “Dog is Man’s BEST FRIEND”. Let’s see what are the qualities we generally associate a dog with – loyalty, reliability, efficiency, friendliness, faithfulness and many many more which the dog owners(or not) can enlighten me with. And what does one look for when one calls for Help - loyalty, reliability, efficiency, friendliness, faithfulness and etc. etc. When we seek help we essentially keep faith in the other person and tell him or her about our problems. What better person then someone like a Dog to do this and that too a sweet innocent one like the Pug in the Ad? What if the HELP of your Service provider could be a Dog - your BEST FRIEND? The world would certainly be a better place to live in as that’s what we all seek.
The Ads have been beautifully crafted(I’ve used the word crafted as I consider them a piece of Art and not an Ad). Whether it be the Dog wearing a tie(it looks so cute) and running after the school bus or it fetching the socks, or licking the stamps(what an IDEA) or it doing whatever as a HELP in such a sweet and innocent manner, the Ads have such a sweet and subtle feeling that anyone watching the Ads would for a moment give a thought that when the Ad is so touching could be their Help is also the same(as we say in our Desi ling – “Jab cut piece aisa hai to Than kitna achcha hoga”).
To top it all we have a Sweet looking Girl, which adds very strongly to the message the Ad wishes to convey – “Even if it’s a child and we are always ready to help and understand”. And that’s what actual HELP in the world is – A helping hand to a child, a selfless help with no material returns as you will get nothing in return except a sweet smile or a peck on your cheeks(worth a millions). A HELP where you need to understand what the other person wants, as the one on the other side cannot convey very well his or her needs. The Dog understands what the Girl wants without her conveying it to him. A beautiful depiction of human feelings and of “HELP”.
Vodafone Help alias Vodafone Customer Care – undoubtedly “HEY THERE! ITS A BEAUTIFUL WORLD”. Can a Customer Care really have a beautiful world there? Well if you don’t believe it, then ring up Vodafone Customer Care at 9811098110 and feel the difference. Well you have here that standard Dial 1 for x, Dial 2 for xx and keep on dialling and waiting and then pressing the* key to return to the main Menu. So what’s different here in this beautiful world? It’s what you get when you dial 9 during any of these options, ie, actually speaking to the Customer Care. Very unfortunately, it’s not the favourite dog who answers on the other side. But whosoever it maybe is co-operative.
Being a Vodafone customer, what I am saying is a first hand experience and that too of just of a week back. I was in Agra and by mistake had disabled my International and National Roaming both after my tour abroad. I called them through a prepaid connection and they were so nice to handle my enquiries for the Postpaid connection promising me two hrs. to resolve it. And I was rubbing my eyes in disbelief when in a jiffy within 5 minutes I had my Roaming activated. No transfers to the Postpaid department and no such dialogues like “Sorry we can’t handle this as its the Postpiad Deptt’s job. Please try again.” This is just a continuation of the HELP my father got when he got his SIM disabled for his lost phone.
Thanks Vodafone HELP for you know what actually HELP means. You can’t see my smile neither can I give a peck on your cheeks but all and all I can say is “THANK YOU – hey there you have made a beautiful world”.
