Hi All, Wanted ya all to know of the spread of the Hutch Network... A couple of days back I was in Ahmedabad - yes, dadas land ! And being a post-paid service user (unfortunately - not being a post paid user but a user) I wanted to check my current unbilled amount and called 200 for it. Till a couple of days back a call to 200 was working fine. I was surprised when the call didnt connect and when I groped around I found that the Customer Service number had changed to 111, the erstwhile voice-mail number. Here are my problems with the situation: 1.) I tried calling 111 from Ahmedabad atleast 5 times ( I lost count thereafter) and chose English from the Main Menu by pressing 3. All calls got disconnected after 16-18 seconds without me getting ANY info. 2.) The bigger surprise came when I came back to Delhi and dialled 200 and to my surprise the number had been changed to 111 here as well; VOILA ! finally a consistent number throughout the nation for a national carrier ! But why did I have to dial 200 to find out about the change? Shouldnt all Hutch users have atleast a message from Hutch informing about the change? Is it really too much to ask from a NATIONAL service provider ? Or does it entail so much work that someone @ Hutch thinks about the Customers: Why bother to inform the dumb dudes? They will call and find out...They dont have anything worthwhile to do in their lives anyways... Whatever be the dumb explanation they give( I am pretty sure they cant offer anything better) What irked me MOST was that on my way to Delhi I tried using the Hutch Plus services (knowing the futility of dialling 200 or 111) and I got a message saying that mine wasnt a valid Hutch postpaid customer - what in the world is THAT? No one answer. I think it is a total riot of the concept of customer service and customer centricity-people at Hutch either dont have the skill or the will to want to set things right at one go-or do they?
