Caller Loot Mar...

I have been using the Vodafone billing connection for more than 8 years. I really had good image of theirs in my mind when it comes to consumer response till couple of years which has only been detonated.

Now I think Vodafone is using the cheap techniques to boost their revenue from value added services. On Sat 22/05/2010 at 5.30 pm I received the SMS from sky (which they using for GSM) Vodafone confirming that my request to activate the caller tune has been accepted??? I ignored it assuming this might be the false SMS generated by their system.

To prove my assumption false I received another SMS on Sunday 23/05/2010 confirming caller tune has been activated??? I checked it by calling on my number the rubbish” Tu Jab Jab Mujkot Puakre be Daudi aao Nadiya Kianre” has been set up as my caller tune. I called their complaint number 198 and explained them that I have not made any such request to receive the caller tune, to which their executive kept on saying this has been activated on your request only. Which I denied strongly.

I also explained him if this service was my genuine requirement why the hell on earth I will call next day to Vodafone saying that I don’t want it? As I am aware that Vodafone charges Rs.15 for activation and Rs.15 for cancellation. But he was neither ready to accept this neither confirmed that it is their system problem. This fellow shamelessly telling me that I need to pay Rs 30 for the service which is not requested nor required.

He also didn’t forget to mention that these charges will not be reversed out.

The height is that even I am speaking to the fellow he disconnected by call, not even bothered to called me back (which they can easily do as Vodafone has full access to customers contact data) I can confidently say that he disconnected the call because whenever the complaint call is over Vodafone send out the SMS for judging the quality of conversation and Vodafone do call back if customer gives negative feedback on this SMS.

Till the time I have never received this SMS.

The above incident raises the below questions in my mind-

1) The company like Vodafone uses such cheap tactics to steal Rs30 of their consumers?

2) What Kind of People are there in their call centre who cut down the call when customer is speaking? Than they can say it was call drop…

I really feel cheated and mistreated due to such incident.
