I have been a Vodafone customer since 7 years, at that time it was called Hutch. The reason I chose it was of its superior network coverage, call clarity and other desirable features.
My primary requirement was good service and I did not want to compromise on quality, In spite of the high cost.
For most part of the time that I used Vodafone it was really superb and the Vodafone coverage was really great. I even used to get coverage in remote areas where other services from other service providers were unavailable.
Although Vodafone had high call rates, it ensured that the customers got desired call quality and minimum call drops. Even the data service provided by Vodafone was top notch. This is the reason why Vodafone became first choice of many customers.
BUT, sadly since last 5 months I have been experiencing degradation in coverage. The coverage at my house was always at maximum level, but now I hardly get any network. Even at other places signal level distribution has decreased. Due to this there is decrease in call quality and sometimes I experience call drop. Data coverage has also gone down. Most of the time I have to be near a window when I want to connect to the internet. It takes a great deal of time to get connected and also the speed has reduced.
The low network coverage is causing a problem for my phone. This is because being in a low coverage area my phone consumes more energy in searching for the network. As a result the duration my phone battery lasts is decreasing and causing me problems.
The Vodafone customer care claims that the reduction in number of cell towers, on order of government is causing this problem. All they say is that they are working on it.
The call and data rates are increasing regularly, but there is degradation in the service, which is not acceptable to me, as I have always chosen quality over cost. If I don’t see an improvement in the service, I might be forced to opt for some other service provider.
Hope Vodafone resolves the problem as soon as possible, if they do not want to loose its customers.
