I am using Vodafone for the last 6 years and was given an add on number recently with free calls between the main sim and the add on.
After a couple of months, I noticed that the add on is not being used at all, and the bill was just adding up, so I decided to cancel the add on. I went to a Vodafone centre at Fort in Mumbai. Vodafone has a token system at its customer centres. It took about 15 minutes to be given a token. 25 minutes after getting the token, my number was called out and I went to the particular agent.
When I said I want to deactivate the add on sim, he said Oh, you should sent an email to this address. I told him that I had not wasted 40 minutes of my time over there, merely to be told I should send an email. I insisted that as I was personally present, my instruction for deactivation should be taken on record.
He then said, oh you need to write a letter. I flipped my lid. I demanded to be given the printed form which I knew that Vodafone keeps. Reluctantly, he went and fetched the form which I then duly filled out and submitted. He said, okay, in 4 days it will be cancelled, that is all. He did not offer an acknowledgment but when I insisted on one, he photocopied the form and told me to get it stamped by the watchman! Appalling service. Shame on Vodafone.
