Yesterday evening me and some friends decided to call up Hutch just to have some fun, I was supposed to speak **only** **in Marathi. **The call was answered after a few minutes, to be exact 6 minutes. I was greeted promptly by **Devendra **I started speaking in Marathi, the associate changed his language from English to Hindi, I told him that Im unable to understand Hindi so well, and asked him to do the conversation in Marathi, **he informed me in Marathi** that he was **not allowed to speak in Marathi **I asked him why was there an issue, he said that **he would loose his job if anyone heard him speak in Marathi **I asked him if he could not speak in Marathi then who would be able to help me or understand my query, he replied back in Marathi saying that he cannot help me out.
I was put on hold for a very long time, after which I was off hold and the only thing I heard in a repeated manner was "Shama kare hum aaki koi sayhyata nahi kar sakte" x 20 times. I kept pleading that I had an query that needed to be resolved asap but in vain.
Then the associate told me that he would have to speak to his Manager to get permission to speak in Marathi, he returned after another long hold, but the above statement was repeated again "Shama kare hum aaki koi sayhyata nahi kar sakte" I was dumbfound that Hutch puts up a deaf ear to customers needs.
I kept pleading for a very long time, the associate had a new reply for me, "Kripaya thodi der baad hume phone kare hum aapki sayhyata kar sakte hai" I asked him if I am in Mumbai, Maharashtra then why there is no Customer Care for Marathi speakers, cause there are support centers all across India for regional language support, he replied only by saying that "Shama kare hum aaki koi sayhyata nahi kar sakte" I kept thinking that this must be a **new Hutch Slogan** - "*Shama kare hum aaki koi sayhyata nahi kar sakte*"
After a lot of pleading once again the associate started saying that he was unable to hear me, he kept sayinh hello. hello. hello. then said that:Mujhe aapki awaz sunai nahi de rahi" and then he disconnected the call.
I was taken aback, the associate hung up on me for no valid reason, the only reason was that I wanted someone to help me out in my query in Marathi.
The call went on for 20 minutes 14 seconds.
I had called around 10:15 PM
If this is the way they treat their customers for a simple query, I shiver thinking about people calling in for a much higher issue.
**Remember: It was a prank call that turned out to be an eye opener**
