I have bought Volkswagen Polos vehicle in 2015. Vehicle is Polo Diesel Highline. After driving the vehicle is driven approx 4k KM. On taking the car to VW workshop for 6 months free inspection, I was told that the cars "lock carrier" which holds the radiator and AC duct has broken form one side. The reason is not known why it will break. But the company does not cover the vehicle under warranty if it breaks. The real problem is that the quality of material used in lock carrier is poor and it breaks very often. At workshop, I was told that there are multiple complaints on this and all are attributed to drivers driving and roads in India.
It appears that Volkswagen is dumping all worst material purchased by them world-over at India. Under the title "German engineering - Made for India".
It gets damaged and related components of Radiator when even minor impact occurs. But it breaks even with the slightest impact. The ground clearance of the car is also very bad. When I went to the workshop I noticed that a lot of cars had the same problem.
Don’t understand Why Volkswagen is not caring to build a quality Lock carrier for the Indian Market? Instead giving chrome lining to dashboard, it should have kept chrome lining to lock carrier. For external plastics, it is worried about chrome lining, But for such an important part which is related to radiator and AC pipe vents, it has made poor plastic lining - Lock carrier which is vulnerable.
This Kind of issue does not exist with other cars in market(Ford, Suzuki, Hyundai.) and boasts about the strength and sturdiness of this German car…
