Everyone searches for a place where one can get delicious food, lovely ambience but in the heart of the city. Well, my search ends at ’’WADESHWAR’’ on F.C.Road.
Situated right at the start of F.C.Road, sharp opposite Gokhale Institute, this place has already fetched its own fans (like me!).
What I like the most about Wadeshwar is the changing mood of the Menu-Card as the day progresses.
Breakfast:
You go there to have a breakfast and most of the Udpi dishes are ready for you including tempting AAPPE. But Mr. Bhave, the owner, doesn’t let you to remain hungry of traditional Marathi items. He serves you with a THALPEETH, which is his specialty. You can take sips of Hot Coffee / Tea sitting in the gentle warmth of early morning Sunrays. Various kinds of Sandwiches are on your side to serve as fillers. Take my experience... you go there for Breakfast and you will never know when did the Lunch time start!
Lunch Se Dinner Tak :
Once the clock strucks 12, another great dishes are ready to tempt and satisfy your tongue. (But just try to order them before time... you will get a firm NO. May be it’s the taste of Marathi Discipline... and it’s true! You can’t eat lunch for breakfast. Every recipe has its own Time).
You can have a wide range of Pav-Bhajis, Chana-Bhatura apart from the Udpi dishes. But again, few dishes of Breakfast disappear from the Menu once Sun Shines right above your Head.
And the Day progresses with different moods... Mr. Swanand Bhave makes it a point to keep you rejuvenated and recharged for the next venture.
It is situated in such a place that you happen to pass by it some time of the day. Go once and taste (and Test) the food.... I am sure, you would make it a Habit.
Another factor that makes it a craze in FC Collegians, is its AFFORDABILITY. The food quality is not related with the Rates and I haven’t seen, in my entire life, any cost-effective food-place like Wadeshwar.
With the overall Ambience, Décor, Location (FC Road), Food quality (& quantity); once expects the bill to be paid by Credit Card; but I have never even thought of it. You just order stuff to fill your tummy up to throat; I am sure even after that you will have a surprisingly meager bill amount. Try it once !
I tell you another secret behind my admiration; I met my wife for the First time in Wadeshwar.
You are asking for my favorite dishes? Well, COCONUT KACHORI ranks the highest in all time hits. Followed by Sweet-Corn Patties, Appe, Cheese Club Sandwich. And you order for anything, I top it with Fresh Lime Juice.
I haven’t liked the Chana Bhatura thing as it tastes a bit Maharashtrian, instead of traditional Punjabi Style. Same with Sweet Corn Patties. Although I like it, I would like to have it a bit less Oily. I first thought it is a must to put more oil but believe me, my wife made them at our home, and they were just ummmmmm !!!
