A steller top notch starcast assembled creates ruckus on screen and
heaps upon us tumultous times, three precious hours of ourlife down the
drain . WAQT - the race against time could have been anticipated as
WAQT race against the multiplex, had I intellect enough to stay away
from mainstream hindi films that keep hitting the theatres week after
week!
As predicted by looking at the promos, which were infact terribly
unexciting, WAQT looked typically like the ’tycoon and his problems’
kinda story and voila, it was!!
Amitabh is the doting father, Akshay is the uncreditworthy,
irresponsible son, Shefali is the nonindulgent , stern mother and
Priyanka Chopra is well, a badly sketched character! And yes I could
kill that lilliputian as...hole Rajpal Yadav, its by far the most
gravelling ’act’ if u could call it that on screen EVER!!!
Well the story goes, Amitabh throws Akshay and the Pregnant priyanka
out of the house to make Akshay responsible and wise, Akshay fumes but
Amitabh does not budge, as usual Amitabh is about to die in the end so
they patch up!HA!..
Add up a few unsubtle and broad dialogues, excessive melodrama , hitches
and stiches and all-encompassing noise for music, and you have the
surprising hit of the year-WAQT!!
Hope to see better cinema being appreciated in future, instead of
giving us unasuming inocents, fatal shocks by making WAQTS and MAIN
HOON NAAS blockbusters!!
