Well the movie is very much to my liking UNTILL ...
Adi (Akki) actually went on stage after overhearing his dads feelings outside the Zoom Star Hunt Contest.
Vipul could have been brave enough and wish he could have taken the challenge and not make a emotional bandbuzz on the stage using a Man trying to prove himself.
The script came to a usual bollywood fiasco of an over-emotional , sensitive melodrama and actually stopped me feeling sad and actually made me smile thinking that God this is bollywood and it had to happen.Specially the early labour pains of Priyanka (COMPLETE BOLLYWOOD IISHTYLE!!) made me out of the film and think about the lack of challenge in the yet so good family melodrama.
Till before that I was completely into the movie and trying to think what is coming next but my hopes and wishes to see a bold move was vanished in a moment and I could do nothing but smile at the bollywood masala.
May be vipul could have an alternative where Adi wud have performed but failed to keep the high standards of the performance because of lack of concentration and mental upset and actually get lost in a more realistic way... and not by making a scene at such a big event of a star hunt!!
Can u imagine this when we were watching Indian Idol on sony tv or the India’s Best on ZEE .... This part amazed me, still in 2005 we need to bring a bolly-miracle and rubbish the emotions with over-sensitivity.
Apart from that, I must comment the movie is a real good movie, and the fun part in the 1st part made a good and pleasing experience to maximum of the audience. Specially because I was with one serious friend of mine to watch the movie and Boman Irani with Rajpal Yadav made him giggle with those simple yet humourous witless activities .
Also Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra make a very good on-screen pair , specially with their looks and chemistry and their extremely good structures. About Amitabh Bachchan , he was always quite comfortable with the role, but I wont term it as a masterpiece , as it seemed repeat of Ek Rishta. Overall it is a very good movie to watch with the family(of-course) and is among the few good movies of the year for me. I would love to watch it again but may be walk off before the final 10 minutes !!
Pros : Good Family Melodrama with pleasing comedy and fitting castings
Cons: Could have been brave at the end and ’’bolly-miracle’’ cud have been avoided
