‘Waqt’ or ‘time’ directed by Vipul Shah showcases a serious bonding of a father and son relationship in today’s era, which is so real, so true and so undeniably hurting that the responsibility of a son towards his whole family itself builds up clashes and hatred between his own father. Waqt also pinpoints the minute egoistic nature of the human being which occurs naturally in the youth of the current generation which creates a sense of doubt, misbelieve and a communication gap between the parent and the child.
This kind of movie comes once in a lifetime but leaves little or one can say not that long lasting memory in the minds of the audience, as it again does not have those pulsating music and temperature rising hot item numbers, but the uniqueness of this director is that at least some or the other person of the family in the theatre must have found some similarity in their own home regarding this story
Commenting on the performances again Amitabh Bachchan steals the show with his charismatic performance and maturity in every frame of the movie but some loopholes are of course their in the end, about his death scene but you cannot blame the actors for it. Shefali Chaya also gets the thumbs up for playing such an important character, Akshay Kumar also again proves that he has his own style and persona in the bollywood which is so natural. Priyanka Chopra also grows as an actress. Other characters including Rajpal Yadav and Boman Irani add to that funny-side-up which keeps our tummies tickle. All in all it’s a good family entertainer with some foot tapping numbers by Anu Malik. In the end go for it!
