THERE IS NO GOOD WAR

The mahatma Gandhi has said once:"what difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty and democracy?"......i’m pretty sure that either Mr Saddam Hussein or Mr Georges W Bush have ever heard about this quote!

When the first Iraqi war began, in the early nineties, i was nine years old....but I clearely remember what my feeling was.....i was happy because we quit school for two weeks! I am ashamed of my self when I remember that back in......forgive me, but what a war for a child? It’s a game and I was supposed to cheer the player that I wanted him to win.....and it was Iraq or should I say Saddam....because he was Iraq and Iraq was Saddam! The media, at least in the arabic world, was spreeding the news that the Iraqi army would won over the high-tech American army....we beleived that and we were hoping for that...hoocked in front of our tv, we were excited to witness war live! But everybody knows, now, what happened at the end....the Iraqi people were left alone, struggling under the umbargo, drown in an endles pain!

And when the second Iraqi war began, i was twenty two years old.....the arabic media has done the same thing, or almost the same thing...they kept affirming that the Iraqi army would never surrender and the Americans would never dull the land of Iraq.....it may was some battles won over the Americans, by the Iraqi army or should I say Iraqi people who were fighting for their dignity , not for Saddam or the Arabs....but, again, we all know what happened at the end and what is still happenning!

It’s strange how history keeps repeating it self but we never seem getting the lesson! You may wonder, now, what I felt this time?I wasn’t happy, that’s for sure....but, i was expecting how things would turn on.........not because I wanted that to happened(GOD forbid) or because I supported the American intervention.....but because, in one hand, Saddam was fighting for the wrong reasons....he was fighting for his throne and his castles and not for the millions of the people of Iraq. So, the fall of Bagdad , under occupation, was a matter of hours. And though I was expecting it, i couldn’t help, my self, to be overwhelmed by the thorny feeling that I was dead that day!

In the other hand, the Americans were fighting for the wrong reasons too.....Bush was preeching war as it was the GOD’s word.He has fooled an entire nation, or at least those needed for the approval of the war, by the holy fight of the good against the evil.....Buch should certainly have done a remarkable church’s priest insted of a president! I must confess that this man has this incredible ability of making things so simple that you almost beleive in the simple matter of making a war."We want war to free Iraqi people, to spreed democracy and to save the world from terrorism"...at this point, Bush thought him self, a saver, a god or more exactly , a lord of war!

Freedom, democracy...all are just words which mean nothing, are worth nothing, if they are not in the right place, in the right side.....if poeple of Iraq were asked either they choose freedom and democracy, given by Bush, with war or a "kind of life", given by Saddam, with some peace......i truly beleive that they would have chosen peace...because there is no good war and no bad peace....war brings only death and destruction....and it’s all the same for the dead, the orphans and the homeless!

I never use the word hate because I don’t beleive that I have the right to hate another human been....but there is no such strong word which can express or match the way I feel inside....both, Saddam and Bush, are two faces of one piece of money, cowardice...Saddam is coward for not killing him self after the fall of Bagdad and Bush is coward for not retiring the americans troops when Iraqi voices were rised against them.....i hate Saddam and Bush as well as I hate the Arabs, my self included, and the whole world for not having done enough, for not doing enough and for not willing to do enough to stop this war!

I apologise to the people of Iraq and to all the people who are suffering in this world because of our foolishness.....we are incredibly incorrigible!
