War on Iraq as part of an ongoing war on terrorism is taken well, given the fact that the most powerful and heavily equipped consortium of countries headed by USA has taken on the responsibility.
That the action is over soon enough is taken well by observers all over. But ’justice’ must not only be done but ’must appear to have been done’ - in this case, the question remains: ’Has the war truly reduced the threat of terrorism for the future ?’
Notwithstanding the apparent feeling that no weapons of mass destruction or biological warfare were found as USA had repeatedly claimed, notwithstanding the fact that United Nations has been marginalized & the spirit of consensus stomped upon by American authority & its forces on their way to Iraq, notwithstanding the shouts of multitude of protesters that be it Iraq or Afghanistan, the reasons for invasion are resurrection of American Business, control of oil sources, pipelines and gaining control of strategic locations through installing puppet regimes camouflaged by democracies for which the countries are not yet qualitatively ready, I would have liked to be consoled by reasonable evidence that Iraq under Saddam Hussain maintained an exile facility for terrorists from world over. I would have been comforted if I had seen more visages of jubilation for freedom from oppression than the vast number of survivors who lost their spouses, kin and near & dear, their weeping faces not just expressing pain & anguish, but also anger, and a determined wish to take revenge for personal losses - the perpetrators, be they individual leaders that brokered for a war, or the ’nations’ they claim to lead, …….

I call upon Bush & Blair, and their allies, to tread with caution from hereon. TWO COUNTRIES HAVE BEEN DEMOLISHED IN THE RECENT PAST IN REVENGE FOR TRULY REPRESSIBLE ACTS OF INDIVIDUALS OR COMMUNITIES OF TERRORISTS WITH CANNIBAL INSTINCTS. BUT MAKE SURE. MAKE SURE THAT A FEW MORE THOUSANDS OF INDIVIDUAL ’TERRORISTS’ ARE NOT CREATED - JUST TO TAKE VENGEANCE.
Tread with caution, for, countries can be fought, but not innocent looking destitutes in thousands if they decide to throw their already devastated lives to deliver blows that can make news !
