Exquisite!

Many people don’t know that Wednesday Morning 3 A.M. is Simon and Garfunkel’s debut album... and boy! What a debut album. To my mind, it represents the pinnacle of the acoustic sound that became their trademark in later years.

The music on this album is really underplayed - and that’s the best part. Most of the time, you are listening to just one, maybe two guitars in the background. This minimalist soundtrack actually enriches the songs, which are fascinating in their melodies as well as their https://lyrics.

The album features one of the most acoustic versions of the famed Sounds of Silence, with just soulful guitars and brilliantly harmonised vocals. If you are the kind of music lover who likes the traditional folk and country sound, don’t miss Bleecker Street, Peggy-O, Sparrow and Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream.

For collectors of good folk and country music, in particular, and acoustic music, in general, this is an essential item. Do not miss out on this one.

PS: I have a cassette. Haven’t spotted a CD in any of the stores I visited. If anyone has a CD, please let me know where you got in from (in Delhi). Let me know via a comment on this review. Thanks.
