Some simple tips !!!

Well well, now that you have got this much sought after appointment with Dr Lavanya, please listen carefully to my jargon without interrupting.

Weight gain is a perennial  problem amongs todays youngsters with the advent of fatty junky food and long hours of sitting on the computer.


The best way to loose weight is to NEVER GAIN!


Some ways to loose that extra fat is by way of dieting. Here are a few tested diets which are very popular.


: cabbage soup diet:


I have seen it work on really obese people, all you need is some determination.


This diet consists of a simple soup diet and some other food to eat over a period of week and claims to help you loose about 10-12 pounds in a week

: Dr atkins diet:


Again a diet which is based on eating only non-veg food.


one should totally avoid carbohydrates in this diet and stick to only non-veg food.


Odd, but proven to be true.


check the net for details, being a vegetarian I havent gone into the details, only seen friends benefitting from it.


: Balanced diet:


Best diet, for all sizes and shapes


Heavy breakfast, medium lunch and light dinner.


Eating leafy veggies, fruits, cereals, rice, pulses in the correct quantity with good amount of water is the best diet ever.


The other things that help to reduce weight is


: exercise, exercise and only exercise:


Burn excess body fat by brisk walking, jogging of playing whichever is good for you.


a normal brisk walk for about 30 mins will burn about 250-300 calories and


did you know that burning 3500 calories is equivalent to loosing one pound?


So a daily walk for 10 days will do the trick!


: Other simple remedies to loose weight:

  • Cut down on fatty, oil foods.

  • Avoide all aerated drinks starting with coke, pepsi, thumsup which only contain empty calories.

  • substitute regular dairy products like milk, yogurt with its equivalent low fat items, just in case  you are taking full fat version of the above.

  • Do regular house cleaning,  vehicle cleaning or even a lot of walking around the house. Generally being an active person doing house chores can also help control weight without you even realizing it.

Lastly, be Happy, relaxed and think positive.


Again dont indulge too much in weight loss activities, dieting and over exercising.


You live this life only once.  Just N-joy it
