The battle of the bulge

When I saw this category I immediately jumped at the oppurtunity to write a review since this topic is very close to my heart and though not correct I can get really vulnurable if I am personally a topic of discussion with regards to obesity!

I have been fighting the increasingly uninvited adipose since I came into this world and ironically my dad’s a practicing dietition. Considering this fact I and my family are often asked about my inability to shed those tiring extra pounds.(i hate that question, mind you!)

The past one year has been exceedingly encouraging for me because I have managed to pull off 8 odd kilos and that too without too much of effort! Personally I think it is only a matter of attitude and nothing else.

If you are able to get that otiose out of your self 3/4th of the battle is won. My dad has been trying to put me on a weight reduction programme from the time I was 7 years old. Poor thing, he did all kinds of stuff, measured the food I ate, made me excercise etal, but unfortunately nothing helped!.and yes he has and is seeing tremendous success in his field using moral means considering the fact that obesity is an over growing problem now.

Finally there was a time when he was like, either u reduce that weight or I will pull you out of college and keep you under my eye. He was against my idea of joining the Talwalkar’s fitness programme because he said it’s all in the mind.you’d rather walk 6kms instead he said.but I was adamant. I reasoned that I need some one to coax me and also would be at the back of my mind that I’ve put money into this so I better do it this time, and that really did the trick.I began loosing weight!

MY WEIGHT a yr ago: 82

MY WEIGHT now: 76

MY HEIGHT: 5’71/2

MY WORK OUTS.

  1. WARM UP’S - 5 MINS

  2. TREAD MILL - 7 MINS

  3. CYCLE - 8 MINS

  4. ABDOMINAL - 30, 3O - 2 SETS

  5. WEIGHTS - 10 MINS

The total workout is for about 35-40 minutes a day. I try to avoid too many sweets and fried stuff though I end up having it about 3 times a week( see I dont diet!).

I feel much better now, that I’ve lost weight, much fresher and confident(though there is no reason why a fat person should have lesser confidence than any other mortal, it was just my weakness) and I recommend that anyone who has a problem of obesity, please make sure that u remain fit, a few kilos here and there is ok I guess, but avoid getting fat and juicy because it has terrible after effects that can irritate you for most of your latter age. The most commonest of them being-

  1. Hypertension

  2. Diabetis

  3. Impotency

  4. Breathlessness

  5. Dullness and mental depression

  6. Lack of confidence and inferiority complex

Do it because you HAVE to and don’t become an extremist.I am petrified of them!

CHEERS!
