I am Capricorn! Anyone for me??

Well, before writing this review, I read other reviews available on this movie on Mouthshut and I came to know that only 33% of people liked and recommending the movie, but then I must consider myself in that 33 %. There are some loopholes in the movie which probably didn’t liked by the crowd which love Wanted, and all masala flicks, but as per me I think that Whats your Rashee is a different kind of movie, and probably all those people who liked Paheli, may like this one too. This movie being a story-telling ex[perience for me and I must praise Ashotosh Gowariker in bringing such a good story (taken from a Gujarati Novel written by Madhu Rye). Yes there are some drawback, biggest one being the length of movie - the movie is 3 hrs 50 minutes long. So, before going into the details of this movie, I must tell that this movie is strictly for those people who love a good story, and good storytelling and must have time and patience to watch this movie.

Coming to the story, the story is of a foreign return guy Y B Patel (Harman Baweja) who was called for a sudden marriage arranged by his family, because his elder brother Jeetu (Dilip Joshi) is in debt, and as per horoscopes, if Mr Yogesh get married on 20 of the month he will be getting a lot of money and property which is very much required to save Jeetu. He came home, and after agreeing to his family’s wills, he put his conditions, as he will only meet 12 girls, one of each zodiac sign, and will marry accordingly, obviously who he will like. And then this romantic comedy journey of Yogesh started, and finally he got his girl. Now, the story is certainly different, many kudos to the novel writer who provides such a good platform for a nice bollywood movie.

Pros: 1. The plot, the story and the characters looks so obvious in the movie, that you actually feel like a part of this Gujarati family. There is a money lender who wants his money back from Jeetu and he really looks serious for that. Then there’s a father who wants his son to be saved from his debt and who himself is having liking for the money be it in any form be it dowry even, the role brilliantly played by Anjan Shrivastava. Then there’s Yogesh’s Chacha, who took charge of showing all the 12 girls to him, played by Darshan Jariwala. Then there’s a pandit-cum-private detective Rajesh Vivek (remember Guran baba from Lagaan), who was appointed by Anjan because Yogesh’s chachi thinks that his chacha is having affairs. These all characters generates many comic sequnces which will certainly provide you smiles in today’s otherwise wicked world.

  1. Priyanka Chopra - Priyanka Chopra in world record role for portraying 12 characters in a movie is awesome. She brilliantly played all the 12 roles belonging to 12 zodiac signs, be it Hansa the non-virgin seedhi saadi lady, be it Anjali, the ill-fashioned ill-english speaking Gujarati Girl, be it Rajni the corporate girl who just think marriage as a contract or be it Chandrika the girl who was looking for his long lost last punarjanam love in Harman.

  2. Music and songs - All the 13 songs in movie are worth to hear many times. Each songs set a different tone and a different feel for all the different characters and situations in the movie. Thanks to Sohail Sen for his great music. The songs like "Sau Janam haan lenge ham tere hi pyar mein aye sanam" has a feel of long lost love being searched. The Song "Jao na" is having the feeling that you’re in real love with someone and just as its picturised, it gave you a feeling of a long drive. "Maanunga maanunga (time machine)" depicts a separate mood like the hero is accepting all the demands of a wife who just wants to rule and think the marriage as a contract. "Su Chhe", is a typical masti and chedchad type of song where the girl is half mad and asking the groom that whether you will marry with me, and is having Gujarati kinds of https://lyrics. And then there’s title song "What’s your rashee", where Herman is actually looking for all the choices, and thinking whom he will choose for marriage.

  3. Herman’s acting - Looking back at Love story 2050, this Herman is a new Herman, he knows acting yaar, he can act if he’s been directed by a professional like Ashutosh Gowariker (Who doesnt need any introduction, being the director of oscar nominated Lagaan, and then Swades, Jodha Akbar). He looks like he is perfectly fit for the guy looking for his bride and improves a lot from Victory, where he played role of a upcoming cricketer.

Cons:1. Biggest being length of movie, the movie is a full 3 hrs 50 min long. It can be edited beacuse in today’s world, everybody comes to enjoy and sitting for about 4 hrs is not worth in today’s fast moving world, where movies are getting shorter and shorter day-by-day. But on the other hand Ashutosh is famous for making long movies - Lagaan and Jodha Akbar. And probably this kind of story needs a full story-telling and it needs time obviously. Movie is romantic and comedy and lengthy. All the 13 songs are picturised in the movie, which can be reduced for reducing the length of movie.

I will again say that its strictly recommended to the audience who have patience and time to enjoy a good storytelling. Well I am Capricorn. Is Anyone’s there for me (any Rashee will do!)????
