WhatsApp’s solution is fairly elegant. To pair your phone with the website, you send your browser to web.whatsapp.com and tap the WhatsApp Web link from the menu.
Then, put the QR code that appears in your browser in view of your smartphone’s camera, and like magic the two are paired. Messages will start to flow seamlessly and immediately among your phone, the Web, and the people with whom you are chatting.
