I bought an automatic wash m/c (dont remember the model name/no). The dealer after n no.of calls delivered the machine to my house. I then called up the whirlpool engineer to install the same. He said he will be arriving next day, and as per IST he promptly arrived after 8 days, at 9.00pm night. I had never used any washing machine till then and hence didnt had any knowledge of its parts and functions. I was watching the TV, while the engineer installed the machine. He gave a demo also.
Then he started showing me the extra accessories. I wanted a stand for the m/c. He had one. Guess what, its price was Rs1300/-. I told him its too costly.
He said it is rust proof, made by whirlpool and with a warentte also. Now since its from whirlpool, I believed in him and took one. After 6 months , the stand is full of rust, all paint gone. Very cheap quality.
After few days of using the machine, I found its performance very ordinary. Clothes were not getting cleaned. I called the engineer again, he arrived after 4 days this time. He said that the filter which comes with the m/c has not been installed. My question was where did the filter go ?
Had the engineer stolen at the time of installation ?dont know ?.......... I thought it might be something hitech part of the m/c and asked him to install a new one. He said it costs Rs630 and will bring it nextday. He came with a filter nextday. To my surprise it was a small plastic part with a net. And cost--Rs630/--........
And guess what , it was very dirty, with soappowder stains on it. I asked and he said, he tested it, so the stains. I came to know that he had stolen from someone’s m/c just like mine was stolen while installation. Since I had no other options, I bought it paying heftely.
Later after 2 yrs of warenty, I got my warenty extended paying Rs2000/- with a promise of a service after every 3 months, even after 1 yr now, no one has come to service it.
I feel the after sales service of whirlpool is worst, cheating, and very costly, promises are made and not met. I stay in Pune.
