It is well said, “If you want to test your strength’s then do the most dangerous thing which fears you”. During my schools days I was very much afraid of water, water which flows with force. Well I decided to mark my victory on this water (Aqua) phobia, and I became member of a swimming pool in Dehradun, and after spending some time with water, I gain some confidence, and then instantly I came in touch of a white water rafting enthusiast group, they all were member of a white water rafting club (GIO). They all were very much particular about the events organized by GIO, they use to attend all the possible rafting events in Rishikesh, Pauri, Alakhnanda. Well I also started with a very small rafting stretch just for 14 kms Shivpuri to Rishikesh on Gages River. And it gave me more confidence to fight back with my water phobia.
Well last summers I decided to attend the Bhagirathi white water rafting, which is more than 150 kms stretch and take almost 4 days to cover. It all starts from Pauri region and ends at Rishikesh (Near Laxman Jhula). This stretch covers, most of the Grade 3 and 4 rapids (I forgot the rapid names). As usual I have done my 4 days booking with GIO greatindianoutdoors.com and u won’t believe I enjoyed maximum in these 4 day’s. Rock climbing in Mornings, Rafting in day times, Rappelling at noon, and bon fire and other activities in nights. I never feel bored during this whole trip.
Our guides on Rafts and on rocks were very well trained, equipments i.e. Rafts, helmets, life jackets and rock climbing equipments all were as per the international standards.
The aggressive white water of Bhagirathi and Ganga looks great in early regions of Pauri, and it became too calm on the shores of Rishikesh. Even these days when I am staying in delhi, when ever I feel bored and alone I prefer to go Bhagirathi or Ganges white water rafting, at least twice a year.
So friends if any body of you is a enthusiastic lover of white water rafting, then you must visit Bhagirathi white water rafting stretch.
Regards,
MJ
