I hadn’t heard of this movie at all, well neither did MS. I has to request Mouthpad for it !
When my Chinese DVD seller came around I picked it up coz I haven’t seen a good comedy in days and I expected it to be funny coz Matthew Lilliard is in it.

Seth Green previously did Idle Hands, The Italian Job and was in Scooby Doo 2 also. I think I liked him in Idle Hands, he plays a wierdo- and does the role well. plays a doctor who is asthamatic and has umpteen phobias.
He’s one of those actors that are also associated with loser roles.
Dax Shepard plays Tom in this movie, I haven’t seen any of his movies before, unless he’s done one of those college movies where he had a small role and went unnoticed.
He rides a Harley and is doing nothing with his life except selling some small stuff, but lies to his friends claiming he makes good money selling Harleys.
Matthew Lillard plays Jerry (Tom and Jerry ?) he’s known for Shaggy in Scooby doo, Thirteen Ghosts and his role Scream. Personally I feel his acting in Thirteen ghosts is the best so far.
Among all the trio I feel he’s the only good actor and can really do some worthy acting but has never been given a chance to do a good role or movie. Roles like Scream go unnoticed because of the multi-star cast.
He plays Jerry who is an Executive Hi-flier whose Girlfriend who wants to break off the relationship because he is hesitant to propose to her.
Burt Reynolds plays a bushman, just a small cameo role.
Directed by Steven Brill who directed comedies like Mr. Deeds, Little Nicky with Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler does all movies that make him out to be a loser always and this movie has 3 losers in it, I guess Brill enjoys such types of heroes only.
The plot
The movie starts of with childhood memories of 4 friends playing together. After completing college they all depart their own ways. One day news comes to all three of them that one of the friends, Billy has just died, this is their get together and they meet at his funeral. They meet at their old tree house and find all their old belongings there, including the treasure map of a famous thief D. B. Cooper.
Tired of their daily routines and overworked life they decided to take a trip looking for treasure, getting away from the big city and doing this for their friend.
They set out into the wilderness and everything that could go wrong does:
attacked by a bear who carries away Dan (Seth Green) into it’s cave,
they fall off waterfalls,
they finding sexy nature loving babes in the middle of nowhere
chased by Rottweilers
discover Ganja plantations
two hillbillies chasing them for burning their ’ganja’ farms,
run around in the wilderness in their underwear.
What’s funny?
The scene where Dan is carried of by the bear
Where Dan insists on using stones to light a fire and Jerry scares him with the flames
When all three of them stick to each other to give body heat to each other in and Dan says ’’This does not leave the cave’’
Overall
It’s not such a funny movie, the plot isn’t something so exciting.
There are couple of laughs here and there but not a entertainer. It’s a Dry comedy with poo bags thrown on the two hill billies, and Jerry recovering his mobile in Bear Poo.... not funny....
Matthew Lillard fails to impress, after doing Shaggy in Scooby Doo we expect him to be always funny and excel in comedy but the script doesn’t support him in anyway.
It’s full of cheap laughs and is boring in many moments. Seth Green is really wasted and he too does not get his fair share of acting or amusing, Dax Shepard is the same, not much from him too.
The mountain man could have been played by anyone, Burt Reynolds doesn’t help in the movie either.
Great for one of those moments when you have nothing else to watch and will trade in your boredom for any kinda movie.
Time 1 hr. 35 min of torture.
