One thing which was in my mind after watching the flick was what was thr director trying to show through this ambitious venture.. Obviously we believe its an ambitious one, especially since the media and Mahesh Bhatt started shouting from rooftops this is a tribute to Parveen Bhabi..
Then what can the viewer expect.. obviously some heart tending emotions, a sizzling chemistry between the lead pair (precisley to see what the Mahesh - Parveen hoopla was all about), and obviosuly great performances..
While the script is fairly good, the directions is really not upto the mark.. Most of the ingredients required to make a straight from the heart emotional story are lacking.. But what keeps your interest alive throughout the film is the ways thing unfold.. Yet I couldnt help wondering did it actually turn out to be a love story, an insight into a schizophrenia patients mind, or a masala flick.. It ends up being neither.. and while the performances in a performance oriented concept may actually make it worth a watch, Shiney doesnt register the required impact.. While he excels in some sequences, thanks to his facial expressions.. his dialogue delivery is plain ordinary.. it actually seems he is reading a book and mouthing those dialogues.. Kangana on the other hand, does a pretty commendable job.. she carries the difficult role with grace and you cant help but say she is a bundle of talent, and definitely has a long way to go.. Rest of the starcast is okay overall..
As far as making an impact is concerned, this doesnt even come close to Gangster, the other Bhatt production this year.. which haunted you long after the show was over.. This one doesnt even stay with you after you move out of the theatre
Anyways, music is very pleasant and the highlight of this one... It seems that Bhatts can never give bad music come what may..
Watch the film for Kanganas performance if you can.. the movie in itself isnt as bad as the review suggests, there are good chances that you may like it.. It had the perfect technicians.. a good script and some interesting moments in screenplay.. But the direction somewhat lets it down.. The emotional punch which was so very necessary in a plot like this is unfortunately missing.. and that does take away the positives of Woh Lamhe to an extent.
