I have loved the movie, The Wizard of Oz, since I was young. I realized I had never read the book before, so I decided to check it out at the library. Wow! I loved it! Although the basic story line is the same as the movie, there are many different and exciting events that take place in the book that were not in the movie. I would say it would best be categorized as ’’Fantasy’’. I couldn’t set it down- really, I couldn’t! It totally took me out of this world and into the colorful, exciting, thrilling land of Oz! I had to buy it the book, so I did, and I was very satisfied with the beautiful color plates included in the version I bought. After reading the Wizard of Oz, I continued the magic by reading the many other books in the series. Most people don’t know there is more than just one book, but there is! They are all wonderful as well.
