"STAR - MOON - ASTEROID" writers... aspirations are many... lets just say..this one is my 50th attempt at ROTD.. Oops I almost forgot, an advice cant be an ROTD..Hic.. :-)

Starting off in here, the first 6 or 7 months, I was roaming here unregistered, then I registered myself! Wrote a few, and just fell in MS-Love. I wasnt a writer at heart, and I wasnt writing either, untill I was here on MS. Gosh, its fun to write..

Comin to the topic, my Checkpoints for a Review would be -

The review is bad mostly coz of..

Formatting - I dont understand why people just put the whole write-up in bold.. I personally walk away from such write-ups. Irritating just to go through the first few lines. HAlf-caPS, HALF - ItaLIcs, HalF BolD and blah all that. A properly formatted review is just a treat to read, but a badly formatted one is ought to be ignored, unless offcourse they’re in your trusted circle, they might drop in a piece of advice.

Matter - Some people just write a review to put in their point. A one-sided review is as bad as it gets. If you think a product is bad, just let people know why, dont go on blabbering why you think the product is bad, mostly happens with ones about personalities. An SRK fan blames Aamir, and vice versa.. you get the drift.

Facts - Most people just write a review without even having the faintest idea of the product.. Go on sue me, but dont go on writing about something you havent even seen. Copied reviews, reviews with only product bashing, without even an slight glimpse of seeing the actual thing, are mere waste of bandwidth!

A Good review however -

Is well formatted and spell checked - (Though, the inbuilt spell checker on MS doesnt work..) still, one has to try to format it a li’l bit or else it just makes the reader dizzy..

Has an Inviting Title - An important part of the review is the title, however trivial it might seem, its like the company tag. "Main to Bajaj Ka Mixer-Grinder Loonga!" Kinda similiar. Its almost like reading a book, you make an impression whether to buy it or not by the cover. The shiny paper, or the cheap price tag, or the Hilarious phrase on it decides whether you buy it or not.

Has Good Content - Now content, its a vague word and can be varied based on what product you write it on. For household products like mixers, restaurents, grocery or vehicles, basically your personal experience would suffices, however for internet providers or Electronic goods, or Finance products, a lot of information and decisive details are required. So, choose the content carefully, short is sweet but long could be useless sometimes without proper content!

Out of the numerous fun things we share here, a lot many problems still remain, What am I talking about?

"Damn’it, I cant find a topic to write on!" Well, you arent alone, im sure a lot of us are sometimes so desperate to write a review.. we end up writing on Advice’s, which aint a bad thing. T’s really hard to find suitable topics to write on.

Motivational setbacks - ROTD’s, well, Everyone wants one, but its a jungle of MSians here, and even if your review is superb, which im sure it is, give it a little time, as to select one from thousands of reviews (& Posts) is pretty difficult.. Blame it on your luck... and plz dont stop writing reviews.

The Buggers- Well, you know what I mean, but still I think, this being a networking site as well, a normal networking routine can be maintained, but for those few weirdo’s, it just steers the boat away!

The controversy Starters - (Confession, Yeah, inspired by the Timex ad :P) Well, there are a lot of ’em, and you can’t ignore em. Let me admit, those reviews are sure all masala and stuff, and fun to read, specially the comments! But, I personally hate em, writing it just for the heck of it, doesnt make sense, atleast to me!

Cold Wars - Discuss, if you want to, but just dont go cribbing about it. "Why is Blah Blah doing Blah Blah?" , yeah right so you hate him, that’s fine just dont go on convincing people about it! Probably the other person doesnt! So deal with it!

Out of the numerous puns, stiffness’es, wars and heated discussions, we move on. Here’s to the never-ending desire to write in here... Keep writing and sharing..
