How to write a review! ~ helpful tips~

I wanted to write this review more for the newbie’s rather then for those who have been here for over 3 months or more.  I feel once you have been here a few months already then you should know how to write some great reviews.  So for those who are new, let me give a little advice on how to write a great review.

Reading

I feel that when you are new the best way to learn something is by watching, or should I say by reading other authors reviews.  This helps you get a general idea of how long a review should normally be, it gives you an idea of what type of information a reader is looking for.  Reading reviews first before you start submitting your own can be very helpful.

Ready to begin

Once you decided on what topic you are going to write about I would suggest that you go to that topic and read a few reviews that have already been posted on that subject.  If you are going to write a review in say the music section on Bon Jovi, then I would read some other reviews first before I started mine.

Writing that review

Now that you done all you investigations it’s now time to put your own work down on paper.  I would suggest you use a program like Word Pad, or MS Word.  MS Word will help you catch any miss spelled words.  You should always make your review exciting and different.  Everyone has his or her own style of writing and never write a review that looks like someone else’s.

Make sure that your review is longer then say 100-150 words.  This will help get a higher rate from those who read your review.  Try not to repeat any information that you already talked about.  Give information that you feel the reader is going to enjoy, or what the reader really needs to know about the subject you are writing on.  Make the review be original.

It is also best if you don’t write your review in one whole paragraph.  This is harder for the reader to keep interested.  I would suggest you space every so many sentences like I have done in this review.  This helps break up the whole line structure.  Take your time when writing your review, and proof read it before you submit.  Some people at the site might be a stickler to spelling and grammar, but I’m not one of them.

Don’t be lazy when you are writing a review, if you do this you will get low rates and maybe some not so great comments from other members.  Remember that everything you submit is now public, and you want to be proud of those reviews you submit.

Extra’s

If you want to make your review look better then you can make words bold and Italic.  The directions on how to do this is above the block that you submit your review in.

I hope this helps those who are new, and I will look forward to helping anyone who needs it.  Lets keep this site flowing with some great authors and their reviews.
