’X-Men’ is the story of a prejudice world of humans who can’t seem to accept people who are born with extraordinary and dangerous powers, which is the result of unique genetic mutations. To the humans, the ’Mutants’ pose a threat to them. The only team that can help these people, who possess such powers, control their powers and have a better life are the X-Men which includes Wolverine, Professor Xavier, Cyclops, and Storm.
I grew up watching the ’X-Men’ cartoons with my brother when I was real little and remember him collecting the comic books and figures of Wolverine. He has been a big fan of ’X-Men’ and continues to collect memorabilia. I was never really into it, but I was always a fan of the character Wolverine. I thought he was one of the all time greatest comic book heroes ever created. I was so excited when I first found out about the ’X-Men’ movie.
This movie blew me away! It had some amazing special effects, not ’Matrix’ like effects but still amazing. There were some really cool fighting scenes, especially when Wolverine fights a bad ’him’. The story was great and solid, from beginning to end.
The whole cast was also great, with Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier and Ian McKellen as Magneto. Halle Berry, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, and Anna Paquin were all amazing but the best thing to happen to this film was Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. He took over the whole movie, playing the part so perfectly. I’m so glad he got the role. Hugh’s such a talented actor and he fit Wolverine so well. His sexy looks and incredible talent made Wolverine come to life like he was born to play the role.
Overall, ’X-Men’ was one of the best films of 2000 and I’m looking very forward to the sequel that is expected to hit theaters next year, I believe. Actually this was the best action/Sci-Fi film of 2000. It had a great story, hip effects, and an awesome cast. The majority of the credit goes to Hugh Jackman for his amazing work as Wolverine that I can’t get over. I hope to see him in a lot more great films, especially actions ones. I highly recommend this film to everyone who is looking for a great action film with a ton of fighting and great effects to go with it. And of course the ’X-Men’ fans will love this also.
