Update - it’s only 5 days Since I got the device and got an software Update already!

One More Thing it’s Support Reliance Jio 4G VOLTE as I tested.

Here’s my detailed views as per my 5 Days Usage.

Look and feel

It feels suitably premium, It’s also extremely light at 129g, and thickness is 7.3 mm and you’ll definitely feel the lack of heft in your hands.

The display may look almost bezel-less, but it isn’t

The Mi 5 is one of the best looking & Premium smartphones to date, with exceptional looks and design. The rear glass is curved around the long sides, while the front piece is perfectly flat.

Display -

It Has Screen to Body Ratio of 72%

From my usage The screen is pretty bright, Full HD not QHD but Still its built-in feature adjusted the display to make it readable even in the bright outdoors. It works, and it works marvellously.

Software -

It’s a Heavily customised Android 6.0

For me it takes around a day to complete explore MiUi.but now I started enjoying it.

Actually I have called Xiaomi helping regarding software updates they says they have plans to updates weekly with bug and security fixes, as well as occasional feature enhancements.

Overall it’s a personal preferences when it comes to software.

Performance -

Xiaomi Mi 5 Has newly 820 Chip.A notable change between the 820 and its predecessor the 810 is the fact that Qualcomm has decided to skip the core wars and go back to a more efficient quad-core architecture.

I did not face any issues with lag or stutter, and everything from unlocking the phone to opening up apps is quick and snappy. I have tried graphics-intensive games GTA VICE CITY, real racing 3. Need for speed etc are easy work for the phone. However, I feel the Mi 5 does tend to heat up a bit when subjected to heavy use, at per my usage it’s a powerhouse.

Battery Life -

from my usage, the phone would easily last through the day despite the screen brightness being on the higher side and constant Airtel 4G connectivity.

I managed get a SoT of 6+ hours

it’s comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology helps to supercharge the 3, 000mAh battery.

When Charging my Battery was-

At 6:30 pm it was 5%

7:58 pm - it is 100% .

Update - one more thing if you’re using Both the sim in the phone then Adding a second SIM card cuts 1 hour from the overall battery life. I’m using Airtel 4g & Matrix Sim Card in another slot.

Camera -

I have not clicked many video or pictures so can’t give my full view.but as per my short usage the pictures and videos quality is really good even in low light.

I’ll update this after some more usage.

But one thing to note who like slow motions video

if you’re shooting in full-HD or 4K resolution, and you have to manually switch to 720p

Some things I wish should be better -

when charging using a Quick Charge compatible charger I feel it causes significant heat at the back of the phone.

Hope Xiaomi fix it with Future Software updates.

Thanks.hope it helps to make you a better decisions before investing your hard earned money on this phone.
