A lot of people here are complaining about fake or faulty product received and other such things. But I want anyone who is reading my review to keep in mind that if you have received a product that is not as advertised, then it is your bad luck and you have a right to demand a replacement. If you want an honest review from someone who has had the good luck of receiving a perfect product, do read on.
Pros:-
Display - The phone features a 720p display within a 4.7" screen, so the colours are extremely vibrant and beautiful. The phone comes with a limited range of themes but then the MI store is always at your disposal.
Processor - Redmi 2 Prime comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor which is clocked at 1.2GHz. For a 6.5k phone, atleast I couldnt have asked for more.
RAM - 2GB as advertised but you can use 1.2 - 1.4 GB of it at any given time, which is more than enough RAM for multitasking. I have tried opening 8-9 apps at the same time and they all work flawlessly.
Battery Backup - This is where Redmi 2 Prime takes the trophy. The 2200 mAh battery holds charge like a charm. So far I have been using my phone for at least 10+ hours in a day(new phone, so a bit obsessed) and trust me, the battery hasnt dipped below 78% for me ever. Also, charging is blazing fast. I charge mostly by connecting my phone via data-cable to my PC, which charges almost as fast as the wall socket charger.
Storage - The phone comes with 16 GB of internal storage(32 GB expandable), which is more than enough storage for a normal smartphone user.
Camera - 8MP rear and 2MP front. Now I have seen a lot of reviews saying that the front camera is not as good, but I found it surprisingly good. I am not much of a selfie guy myself but my tests gave good results. The rear camera has a excellent focusing technique so you never have to worry about blurred pictures.
Sound - If you are a music lover, blindly go for it. Thats all I can say. Sound reproduction is beautiful.
Call Quality - Here is another controversial point. People have said that the sound over calls is a bit low but I found it sufficiently loud and clear.
The finish, to say the least, is extremely elegant and everything about the phone feels premium even though the whole thing is plastic.
A lot of people have complained about heating issues but so far I have found none. I have played Asphalt 8 on med-high settings a lot(like really, a lot) but so far I have never felt any heat that could be remotely classified as an heating issue of the phone.
Cons:-
So far I have not found anything to classify exclusively under this head but one thing, the screen gets dirty pretty quickly if you do not have a screen-guard or tempered glass protector in place.
Overall - 5/5. Definitely. If you want a premium smartphone within 10k or even 13k, absolutely go for it.
