Xiaomi has been steadily growing its fan base here by launching some exciting phones in India. Hopping on to PM Modi’s Make in India derive, Xaiomi has started manufacturing Redmi 2 Prime in Foxconn-owned facility in Andhra Pradesh. The new phone is set to replace Redmi Prime in India. Here our take on Redmi 2 Prime, its features and specifications.

Built:

The phone looks identical to its predecessor. In the hands its fits well thanks to its 67.2x134x9.4 mm dimensions. Ergonomic curves on the corners ensure this plastic body phone do not give a slab-like appearance. It is not the lightest phone in this price range at 133g, but won’t pain your arm during long calls or game play either. We have to admit, Xiaomi has paid meticulous attention to details, even for the budget price.

Display:

One of the highlight of the phone is its display. The 4.7-inch 720P HD IPS screen is layered with Dragon Trail scratch resistant glass and is one of the brightest in its segment. Under the Sun, text can be read without putting extra strain on eyes.

Performance:

Xiaomi phone sports powerful Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor under its hood. The same chipset is being used by Motorola in its popular phone Moto G 3rd Generation, which cost almost double the Redmi 2 Prime. Presence of Adreno 306 comes in handy for taking care of graphic requirements. The phone boasts 2GB of RAM and 16GB of Internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB. In our assessment trial, phone handled games like GT racing 2 without a flutter.

Camera:

The Chinese device maker has placed an 8-megapixel camera on the back of the phone. Images captured from the rear camera appear to portray accurate colours in properly illuminated surroundings. What didn’t impress us about the camera is its indoor or low light performance. The indoor image have a slight bluish tint and some gains. Overall, the camera is decent when we place it amongst the phones under 10, 000 INR.

Battery and connectivity:

Since India is slowly but steadily moving towards high-speed internet, Xaiomi has ensured Redmi 2 Prime is 4G enabled and supports Indian LTE bands. Dual SIM compatible phone is fueled by a 2200 mAh battery comes with Quick Charge capability.

Buy Xaiomi Redmi 2 Prime in India for a best price Rs. 6499 from Amazon.in.
