Redmi 8 takes two steps forward and one step back.Design and battery life is fantastic but performance is not that much good. Because in Redmi 7 xiaomi people gave Snapdragon 632 processor.

It also contain 10w charge but also support 18 w fast charging and and support for type 'c'port . which is really good.
6.2 inch HD+ display also gave good experience when you show videos.
It also contains wireless Fm radio.
All sensors are presernt like facelock, fingerprint etc. And also have Gorilla Glassv5 protection.
So except the performance Redmi 8 is really good in compare to Redmi 7.
It's price also do justice with there features.
