Xiaomi has recently launched its note series successor Redmi note 5 after previous years best selling Redmi Note 4 which still no good with comare to earlier redmi note 3 which is still a beast in performance with sd 650 but this is about Redmi Note5 and why you should not go for it
First, with mid budget range series if consider only mi there are quite good other devices like older mi a1 or newly launched with remmi note 5 Note 5 Pro so you should consider to go for the mi a1 or the pro version.
There is no usb type c in Redmi note 5, Mi lags this feature in note 4 and still no usb type c this year maybe next year they add it but still if your device dont support fast charging but has a type c you may expect to solve this issue with a ota update but without having the hardware it is not possible

MIUI now don’t get me wrong Miui is good but it ain’t android one you don’t get security update and patches from Google
out of the box Nougat though xiaomi promices to upgrade to android oreo but stable update may be available after a long time and still no confirmation for upgrading to android p
Hybrid sim is always problem in xiaomi this set includes it too
Single Rear camera note 4 camera was quite better than this one
