Last weekend I took my parents to the Xyka Restaurant on Bannerghatta Main road for dinner.
I have come to this restaurant a few times earlier with my husband because of the’ Mutton Chaap’ and the’Biryani’ they make here. The food is really good, however each time I visited this place I noticed that these guys lacked customer service skills big time. They would never serve you properly, the food would be delivered so late at your table that you may lose your appetite, the tables lay dirty for good minutes after customer leaves the place etc, but we chose to ignore it till the last time we visited the place.
The place was not very crowded but we could see only a couple of waiters running around, taking food orders from the customers. The table where we were to sit was still strewn with used plates and tableware and they didn’t bother to notice that.
My husband then went to the counter and told the fellow to get the table set for us to sit. We were asked to wait. We waited paitently for about 15 minutes and yet saw no sign of anyone coming to clean the table. This time I went to the counter and told the guy that we still waiting for someone to clean the table. Finally a person was sent to clean the mess.
Now another waiting game started, for the’waiter’.
We had to call this guy to our table to get the order. Guess what, out of the very few items on their menu card, they didn’t have most of them. Please do note that it was a Sunday night and hence expected that most of the items on the menu card would be there. So we changed our menu as per what was available(the waiter told us what was available) and waited again for another 10 minutes. Then the waiter comes and tells us that those too were not available. When we told him that he wasted our time(about 40 minutes at least), he started an arguement.God knows how they plan to survive this business.
We ran out of our patience then and left the place with a very bad taste. Even though we liked the food there, we have decided never to go there again. Its a waste of time and certainly not a place to go and spoil your mood.
I wish there was an’Extremely Poor’ button in the Product rating section, because Xyka restaurant in Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore, certainly deserves that.
