In spite of all the hype surrounding it, the mega star cast of Yaadein fail to produce the goods.The film turns out to be a dud.The story, which I guess was supposed to capture the viewer’s sentiments just captures irritation and sarcasm.Jackie hroff(Raj) is an old gent with three daughters(including Kareena).Hrithik(Ronit) is his friends son and also his best friend.Ronit is more intimate with Raj than with his parents and uncle(Amrish Puri) who are rich businessmen.Some rather strange circumstances like Hrithik saving Kareena from a crocodile, rescuing her from an abandoned islandby towing her(while swimming) in a boat, getting bit by a poisonous creature in the process makes them both fall in love with each other.But before they can confess their love for each other, Raj arranges Ronit’s wedding with another girl which is more due to business terms rather than anything else.They confess their love, but Ronit’s parents refuse since Jackie Shroff isn’t a wealthy businessman and the usual stuff with some heavy dialogues.In the end, they realise their mistake and accept the happy couple.The movie is an utter disappointment.The songs aren’t exactly catchy except for one or two.Unfortunately, Kareena’s two sisters manage to look better than her.Hrithik has been wasted.Basically, the film is three hours of sentimental crap.Definitely not a film to be wasting money over.
