As promised I am here with my first review. This is a special category because after years of having to deal with incompatible partners, I seem to have found someone that I can spend some quality time with.
Initially I saw this on my messenger and clicked on it. The site opened up and it looked pretty good. I was single and desperately in search of a good friend, so I decided to give it a try.
Now, what is this? 29 odd $ for a month. Well, why not. I can surely try it for a month, even if I could get one man who can spend on me for sometime, it might be well worth it.
I paid with my visa, and filled in the necessary details, average body, 5’ 8’’ , and all sorts of stuff and then I had to write some stuff about me. I wrote honestly what I thought about myself. In the long run it is better than dissappoinment apart from the time wasted with the person hoping something different from you.
I also browsed through some profiles in the men looking for a woman section. Some of them were nice, but most of them seemed too bold for my tastes. I didn’t want a man who just wanted to have a one night affair. I was looking for something more.
Someone was online, and I tried to talk to him. After some time he asked me if I wanted to meet him. Well, I wasn’t too sure since I didn’t know this person. And then he got irritating, asked for my phone numbers and all. I decided it was high time to put him on my ignore list. Thats a nice part about online dating much easier than ignoring a person in real life in a bar for instance.
After a few trials and errors, I came across an average looking profile of a person who was in his mid 30s. I just casually said ’’Hi’’ to him. He responded politely saying that he was just about to leave as he had an emergencey and we could chat some other time. ’Well, why not’, I thought.
And then I forgot all about it. One night when I was browsing and was totally bored at night, he sent me a message, which was the cutest message n the world. I checked to see if he was online. And there he was. We started to talk about things, about pets, about our common interests. It was nice talking to him. We did this for about a week and then he asked if he could call me sometime, I didn’t need to be asked that. I gladly gave him my number.
On a friday night, he gave me a call and we spoke for about two hours. It was fun, and nothign could be worse than spending your fridays at home alone. So, I asked him if he wanted to go out. He didn’t mind that, ofcourse.
We met at a bar, and had a few drinks and talked more about ourselves. He wasn’t the most handsome person in the world, but maybe one of the nicest. I am quite a good looking lady, and maybe I wished he could be gifted with perhaps more hair on his head, or maybe be a little taller. But, he gave me great company and since I had nothing to do, I stayed with him. We met for about 3-4 times and then he invited me for dinner one weekend.
We had a great time, he had arranged for wine and had cooked everything on his own. I stayed over at his house, watched a movie and then had a great time with him. Now we are together for almost a month and I couldn’t have asked for more.
Yahoo Personals is a great site if you are willing to be brave and make the right choices. Ofcourse, there are a lot of dangers with online dating, but atleast you get to talk on the phone and be sure of it before you meet them personally.
It is nice especially to those people who don’t fancy starting to talk to strangers in a grocery store or a park jsut like that or for those who don’t have the time to go out and meet people jsut like that.
Be careful, there are evils but there are a lot of nice people also. And like me I hope you find the right one too.
