Not a Great Bike as it seems

Hi Guys !!

Its been about 3 yrs from the time Enticer was launched in Bangalore. I was probably the initial few who took the plunge. I have had some good and bad experiences with this bike. If I had to buy this vehicle again, I would not. I think this is all looks and nothing more. I hope Yamaha re-looks at the design and gives us the same kind of bikes like RX100 and RD350 for which guys are still completely Ga-Ga

I have listed down the pros and cons of this motorcycle. You are the best judge !

Pros:

  1. Comfortable Drives. Good seating and foot rest

  2. Cruiser looks.

  3. Good mileage for its weight.

  4. Low centre of gravity lets you take sharp turns w/o thinking

Cons:

  1. Very Low power for the weight of the bike. Unable to take a pillions on mountainous road or ghats sections.

2.Service Hungry: The bike purrs when out of a service station however in a couple of months it again starts asking for another servicing.

  1. Uncomfortable brake pedal. Not safe for emergencies.

  2. Loss of Power after 15-18K Kms: The first couple of years have been smooth. However with time the bike is losing its power and ruggedness. I have had to get the rear shockers changed, the chain tightened twice even after changing the chain sprocket.

  3. A feel of flimsiness in the handling.

  4. Unstable braking: Being a rear heavy bike, it is unstable when braking. Almost has a feel of the bajaj scooters with the engine on one side causing much trouble while sudden brakes are applied.

  5. Starting problem in heavy rains

  6. No Mud flaps for the front wheel, makes it a messy vehicle to drive around in rainy seasons.
