Yamaha Fascino Overview
Emerging stronger in the gearless scooter segment, Yamaha put its best foot forward with Fascino. Despite being a late entrant, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer convincingly reserved a place for itself in the 110cc scooter segment. Fascino further accentuates Yamaha’s presence in the budding segment, turning out to be a cash cow in a short span of time. Ticking most of the right boxes, Fascino is a strong product attributed by enthralling looks, decent performance and aggressive pricing.
Sporting neo-retro design, the scooter features many curves and use of chrome on the outside enhances the overall look. Up front, Fascino gets retro styled head lamp, sleek vertical indicators and air-intakes. The wing mirrors are chrome finished, instrument cluster is large and easily readable. Where it scores high is the fit, finish and quality of paint which altogether makes it appear up market. Rear is curvy and chrome is used abundantly visible beneath the seat. Seat is large and gives enough room to accommodate rider and pillion.
Fascino Engine Specifications & Transmission
For power generation, Fascino gets a 113cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder Blue Core engine outputting 7.1PS at 7500rpm and 8.1Nm at 5000rpm. The carburetted engine is mated to a V-belt automatic transmission.
Fascino Features
Features incorporated on the scooter include a modish looking meter console, retro-style head lamp mounted on the handle bar, grab rail at rear for the safety of pillion, 3D logo, foot board, 21 litres of under seat storage space. Yamaha has also provided a small cubby hole beneath the handle bar, a hook is also provided in front and a large seat vouches for a comfortable ride.
Fascino Performance & Mileage
The engine is capable of delivering an impressive performance especially at the mid-range. Even at high speeds the scooter does not feel shaky. Fuel economy delivered is impressive too, saving on the running cost.
Fascino Braking & Handling
Telescopic front forks and monoshock rear absorbers are put in place to handle suspension duties. These in turn help handling curves with ease, but front suspension could have been firmer like the rear side. Stopping power is derived from dual drum brakes missing out on the disc units.
Yamaha Fascino Wheels & Tyres
The scooter runs on tubeless tyres gauging 90/10-10(53J), these however seem to be slightly under-sized.
yamaha Fascino Competition
In the 100cc scooter segment, Yamaha’s Fascino goes up against competitors like Honda Activa 125, Honda Aviator and Suzuki Swish 125.
