Can any one plzz tell me when was the last time Yamaha designed a completely new engine???
beats me. fazer is like an old wine in a new bottle. 123.7cc 10.8bhp engine- same as the one used in YBX, YD125 and Enticer. As far as the loks are concerned, its bold, very bold. the dual eye shaped front head lamps catches the eye instantly. Its got air sccops like the one in Libero, the tank is nicely shaped and the legs fit in perfectly. the best part is the tail lamp. indicators are blended into it and it gives a real sporty feel to the bike.
If you look at the Fazer thats available abroad, you would find that it has dual discs in the front and single disc in the rear and lets forget about the engine. But its poor Indian cousin still has drum brakes (largest in its class). wassup guys, even passion+ comes with a disc brake!!! Another thing that beats me is why doesnt Yamaha provide leg guard as a standard accessory??? And what about the fifth gear???
I really dont think that Fazer lives upto the marketting hype that was created before its launch, TRULY YAMAHA and all those stuff.
Over all its a nice bike to ride in the congested city conditions, but if you plan to use this bike for continuous high speed rides, ask Yamaha to install a 5th gear and a front disc brake.
