I dont own a Yamaha bike, im not a fan either, but just like anyother bike enthusiasist i was overwhelmed to know the launch of fz250 as it would mark to be the beginning of the introductory clash of 250cc segments within premium brands just like i expected KTM bajaj announced their version of 250 rival and suzuki india is just months away from launching their own 250cc competitor.Anyways coming to this particular bike to be honest i was very disappointed with its test ride, from a 250 cc engine that too from an yamaha product i expected much more than this..on the lower end with its power power delivery youll actually bend down to check if its rebaged version of actual fz16.On the handling and breaking wise it is as good as other bike from its brand.Infact you wont even miss abs. Thanks to the new break pad material combined with a mighty 282 mm front disc(2 pot break caliper) and a 220 mm rear disc brake. Now coming to the power.20.69hps on 8000rpm.Even to attain a mere 20 nm of torque youll have to rev it to 6000 rpm.Atleast by slightly increasing the price yamaha could offer us upsd forks but guess what?that is not for Indians. We will be fooled with telescopic forks for ages to come. And headlight is a joke, literal joke.Forget alone its very low power as low as a torch light, After a mere 15 kms night ride i had headache because of shaky headlamp unit. When i looked deep into this matter i came to know majority of initial batch bikes had this issue. On the whole id not buy this bike.id rather go with the good olfz16.
