After carefully evaluating Suzuki gixxer, Honda Trigger and Yamaha FZS v1/v2, I went for Yamaha FZS v2 and Im glad to have made the right choice!
Riding this bike has been an extremely pleasant experience. I have ridden more than 5000 km on this bike now, and Im yet to find a flaw! The moment you sit on this bike, you start feeling good about it- raw masculine looks, good pickup and power, extremely comfortable handling, feels light weight and in total control almost always. On top of that, because of the new blue-core(= fuel injection) engine, I have been getting mileage more than 50kmpl irrespective of where I ride the bike. The customer service is satisfactory so far, and I have not yet suffered any inconvenience whatsoever with the bike or the customer service.
On a flip side, the seat feels little too hard for my liking and also, its significantly more expensive(5000+) than competitors. I find Yamaha fzs v2 and Suzuki Gixxer in a neck-to-neck competition, and if youre willing to compromise on looks and quality of finishing, you may get as good performance with Gixxer in a lesser cost, I suppose. However, Im happy that I chose fzs v2 over gixxer.
