I own a Yamaha FZs for 18months now and when I saw Suzuki launching Gixxer I decided to test ride. Tired of traffic and frequent gear changes I decided to venture into scooter segment. Have already booked Honda Dio but waiting time is 2 months. Yamaha in my opinion still beats Suzuki in looks when its FZs vs Gixxer.
The current fuel injection Yamaha FZ V2 cannot be compared with Suzuki Gixxer because of different specs and different engines. Yamaha FZs and Suzuki Gixxer have Carburettor engines. Coming to Suzuki Gixxer 155cc Gear Change is butter smooth, awesome pick up and no undulation in power distribution throughout the test ride. Its impressive.
There are lot of undulations in Yamaha FZs power distribution although powerful still you dont get that smoothness and power output consistency which Gixxer is offering now. I conclude that Suzuki Gixxer is better than Yamaha FZs almost on every aspect except the looks. Gixxer has one of the best looks but still below Yamaha FZs. Everybody is very well versed with Yamaha FZs mileage. I am wondering and have a serious doubt about Suzuki Gixxer’s mileage?
Hope to see a post from someone soon on this. Also Gixxer beats all bikes in 150cc segment. It should be worth a buy. Suzuki Eco Performance Technology has shown its consistency in Test Ride. Hoping that Gixxer betters its peers in mileage. Anywhere between 45-55kmspl for Gixxer would make it a winner considering SEP. While riding Gixxer is taller than FZs.
