First Yamaha

I own Yamaha FZ 16 in red... I really loved this bike since its launch... especially from the rear... I love the way the tail light is placed, right in the mudguard n the real tail bears the yamaha 3 intersecting tuning forks logo... I read the reviews earlier about low fuel mileage but I think no matter wat bike u own u need to give it its drink in order to take the pleasure of riding... I basically dwell from a hill station where Bajaj Pulsar rules the market esp the 180 n 220 variation...

its not that I don’t like those bikes but I prefer my yamaha more... the monoshock suspension is a real comfy n I tried a lil off roading in a mud n gravel track in a Tea Garden I did 35kmph with no hesitation of bike losing control or bumping off the small round stones... n its good for mileage in my place coz higher engine capacity would mean higher power but comparable lower mileage... n the horsepower of the engine is suited to me coz m not a racer but a rider as bajaj bikes provide...

i don’t wanna go shooting like a bullet from gun barrel n flying off a cliff... Yamaha FZ 16/FZS dominates the tight steep hairpins that I get coz of its macho rear tyres n better stability coz of its Monoshock... I tried climbing uphill with me n a pillion adding upto 185 kilos additional to the bikes weight but it seemed that the bike had no problem riding us together... n yes the bike should have been provided with a rear disk brake coz the drums heat up pretty fast going down hill though I do not ride in neutral gear... n the fuel tank capacity should have been more n I do agree with one of the reviewers that the rear tyre splatters dirt as I have experienced myself...

n here the weather is cold so the splattered mud on engine n rear part of the bike is a painstaking process to wash with icy cold water especially during winters... n the ground clearance seems to be low as my main stand hits the speed breakers, esp wen the pillion is as heavy as me so I had to raise the monoshock a bit... overall m satisfied with the bike n m hoping that yamaha will bring us more good news over the coming years...
