Good design and riding comfort but,,,,

I own a FZS v2 black orange and I am proud of it.

The good things are:-

The bike is silent compared to pulsar series even while accelerating. The tyre width is perfect with adequate road grip and can safely take the corners. Acceleration is smooth and you won’t feel the speed unless you check the speedo. Gear shift is smooth and crisp. Fuel injection and BlueCore engine gives better performance and mileage. Headlight is battery powered and does not flicker on idle.

Drawback are:-

Handle bar’s design is not ergonomic. How ever you adjust it, you have to lean forward over it, stressing your palm on long rides. The engine heats up fast and you could feel the heat on long rides. The smooth ride’s limit is only up to 55-59 kmph. Anything beyond that is uncomfortable and noisy. Single-arm gear lever makes the gear shift tricky, strains your leg and spoils your shoes if you wear one. Rear brake is lousy and comparatively less effective than other bikes. The display meter sucks with no useful/easy readable information other than speed. The chain gets too noisy in 300-400 kms and needs frequent cleaning and lube(Does not loosen up like bajaj bikes, which is good). The accessories like crash guard and saree guard are add-ons and of substandard quality. The rear view mirror does not cover the required area and one has to move his head around to get the desired view which demands a little time and so is risky. Horn is not dual and sound is insufficient for City driving conditions. Fuel meter is inaccurate and unreliable to check mileage accurately. Higher turning radius puts the rider at risk of going off road, hitting a pavement or losing balance while turning. Fuel tank cap needs the key to close it back, which is inconvenient.

Suggestions for improvement:-

->Display meter can be made better and bigger with easy readable information like digital numeric rpm, bigger font in odo/trip meter, side stand indicator, engine temperature etc.

-> With such a price segment, rear disk brakes could be included.

-> Handle bar could be designed better so that leaning forward is avoided.

-> Could put Double-armed gear lever instead of single.

-> Rear view mirror could be slightly bigger to cover more area.

-> Good quality accessories to be made mandatory for the dealers to supply with.

Verdict:- Far better than Bajaj Pulsar of this or slightly higher class, but a couple of improvements could make this bike perfect. I would give a 7/10.
