Let me begin with the bike before I vent my frustration out on the spares situation. The bike feels amazing!! Traffic or no traffic, once you cross 600 km on the odo you can take it upto 6000rpm that almost 75 kmph!!! ( It’s the manual that says so!!)
I just got the first service done, and am amazed that it’s become all the more smooth, fast and zippy. Unfortunately, I had a small incident on the bike, the bike feel down, the handle got a bit bent. However, surprisingly the plastic parts held up well and with almost not visible scrathes!!
I went to the Yamaha guys (Venkateshwara motors) and I was immediately asked to change the handle. When I asked them to go ahead with it they told me that they did not have any spares let alone the handle!!!!!! How surprising can it be!!? One one hand you want it to be the fastest selling bike and on the other you do not provide with enough spares. Another big issue is the amount of ducst and water that gets kicked up by the front wheel, the engine is bound to get a good amount of sand blasting unless Yamaha provides us with some quality accessories!
The website claims that Yamaha develops products based on customer feedback! Guess what? There is not link on their website that allows a customer to provide one!!! How frustrating can that be?
I would really like to see yamaha come up with some quality accessories, and adequate spares!!
