I bought this bike on December 2010 from Lotus Yamaha RT Nagar. 18000 Kms covered. No part replacement so far. Condition of the vehicle is still amazing with regular service ( 2000 Kms once).
Show room : First thing I would like to mention is Lotus Yamaha is just a dealer of Yamaha bikes and there service is really disappointing. They are very careless and does not care about their customers. I paid advance and bike reached show room within a specified amount of time but they took 2 more days to hand over the bike to me because of their internal issue.
Bike experience: When I first rode this bike I felt so amazing. I was sure to take care of this stuff until it reaches 2000Kms. (Like people advice don’t rip your vehicle when its new) By then I was well versed with this bike.
Initial pick up is ok. But I really love the handling. It has got a very good control. I use my bike everyday for travelling and so far I am so comfortable riding it irrespective of weather. I never had any kind of problem with this bike when it comes to handling.
Riding experience: Its thrilling to ride this bike. you have got a comfortable sitting posture on this and handling is smooth. However, if the pillion rider is too bulky they tend to slide down. you will have to ask them to move back too often :D
The only problem I have faced with this bike so far is if I switch on my head light and just turn off my engine it wont start again. As the only option I have to push and start it. When you are tired its very difficult.
The rear break is not all that good. In high speed you should be really careful if you are relying on rear break. May be coz of huge tyres I am not sure this break just sucks. What so ever I use both disc break and rear break even while turning I never had any problem so far. ( I am not sure every FZ has got the problem with Rear break though)
Head light quality: Even the headlight quality is not so good. I prefer changing it. But you can still compromise. considering the speed and pick up the vehicle has got its very important to have a good headlights.
Mileage: I am getting a mileage of 38 to 42 consistently so far.
Looks: No need to say it has got an amazing looks as far as me.
Maintenance: Its just like any other modern bike until you get into major problem like tyre burst. lol Any replacement you should be ready to spend huge money. Until than you are safe.
Finally, if you are ok with the mileage go ahead. This bike is worth the money. Ripping in Bangalore road is impossible though. But I am sure this is one trust worthy, reliable bike.
