Gladiator glides

I changed to Yamaha Gladiator JA type in june 2007 and crossed 10000kms last month Alloy wheels, self start & all black).

I had a bullet for 7 years prior to that.Got bored with starting problems and changed. I have been getting a constant mileage of 55/57kmpl with regular service done as per schedule.

Pl. find below my observations .

1.engine is one of the smoothest in its class.

2.5 gears with perfect gearing makes your acceleration effortless.

3.Length and height of bike make it very stable.Have not skidded, in spite of high speed braking.

4.Comfortable range to overtake most of the vehicles on road .

5.Engine doesn’t labor like an asthmatic as is with 100cc bikes, and is very comfortable while running at 70-80kmph.

I find service centers are overenthusiastic to better the mileage and tend to set the carb. too lean. This takes the fun outa the bike till reset.

After 17 months c gladiator I am still delighted riding it

During this period I changed the battery once  under warranty as the self motor used to struggle in the mornings.

I also changed the clutch housing (plates, bell etc.)under warranty once.

During the November end downpour at  Chennai, I could drive the bike thru deep water logged roads, thanks to the exhaust which is placed in steep upward angle away from swirling waters.

A Good stable powerful (125cc) bike, I would strongly recommend it to all bike enthusiasts
