I am a customer of Yamaha Motors India. I had purchased the Gladiator SS from dealership. The day I had purchased the motor cycle at the show room, there was some sound in the engine. I asked to change the bike. But they had refused to take it and when I complained the issue to dealership owner in presence of Yamaha officer, he intervened and ordered the staff to assembled another bike.
Since the service centre is located far from the main city and there is no public transport facility to go there so you can not come back and go again to take your bike. You are forced to wait till your bike is serviced. Whenever I have gone for service, first time my battery has been checked is in my last service(5th service, before that no one was there take cars of that)and after that I am continuously facing problem in battery and self start.
Now the most important reason that provoked me to write this post is, when I have gone to rectify the battery problem on Sunday(9-Aug-2009), it was not properly rectified. However, they had charged the battery services even when it is in the warranty period. Mechanic at service centre misbehaved me and threatened not to give my bike. Regarding this when I asked Yamaha dealership, he told that you had had to pay the charges.
Effectivly, there is no one who is responsible for customer relationship and mechanics are the whole sole authority.I had given bike again due to the same battery problem to Yamaha dealership on 10-Aug-2009 and due to this I walked more than 1 km in hot afternoon.
My backlight glass was cracked earlier but this was not rectified in the my last service and they said we do not have parts so we can not fix it. Next time they fixed but it was not properly fitted when I complained it to dealership officer, even then mechanic had not taken any care. After my insistence other mechanic took up the issue and rectified it. The earlier mechanic had thrown the rubber band and he had fixed the back light glass without using it.
I have complained the whole incident to dealership manager but he is just consoling me and no actual work had done by him to satisfy me. I have faced at least one issue in each service that something was not fixed in the same service and I have travelled there more than once to the hell. I had even emailed the the issue to GM service then only issue was taken care but not up to the mark. Services of Yamaha motors is a urse. I am damn sure about that.
Gladiator a good product with very bad service support.
